Lack of religion may raise anxiety disorders in children: Study

A recent study found that religious belief plays a key role in protecting mental health of children and adolescents. Analysis of data from 70 countries showed that decreased religiosity in child-raising is the most significant risk factor for anxiety disorders. Shifts toward individualism and independence, especially in Western countries, may also contribute to rising anxiety among young people.
