No need to be Marathi experts: Fadnavis to auto drivers amid protests
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis sought to ease concerns among Hindi-speaking auto and taxi drivers over the state's Marathi language requirement, saying basic communication skills would work. His clarification came as Mumbai auto drivers began a three-day strike. "Hindi-speaking auto drivers do not need to become experts in Marathi; they should know enough functional Marathi to get by," he said.
