The Joint Parliamentary Committee examining the bills on simultaneous elections said it is working to make the 'One Nation, One Election' reform fully operational by the 2029 general elections. It claimed that 99% of the civil society stakeholders consulted so far support the proposal. The committee said it could save nearly ₹7 lakh crore in losses caused by frequent elections.
