RBI released 'Report on Trend and Progress of Banking in India' for 2024-25 and 2025-26 so far. It states that the commercial banking sector stayed resilient in FY25, with scheduled commercial banks(SCBs) showing double-digit deposit and credit growth, which moderated from FY24. Asset quality improved, as gross non-performing assets ratio fell to a multi-decadal low of 2.1% by end-September 2025.
