'Red Light On, Gaadi Off' campaign to be implemented in all Delhi constituencies

The Delhi government will implement its 'Red Light On, Gaadi Off' campaign, aimed at curbing air pollution, in all 70 Assembly constituencies from October 26, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said. Rai launched the campaign to turn off engines at traffic signals on Wednesday. The campaign, which will go on till November 15, aims to spread awareness at 100 traffic signals.

Mehul Choksi, wanted in ₹13,500-crore PNB fraud case, detained in Belgium

Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in connection with the alleged ₹13,500-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case, has been detained in Belgium based on India's extradition request, PTI reported citing official sources. The 65-year-old diamantaire was reportedly arrested on Saturday and is currently in jail. His nephew Nirav Modi is also wanted in the case.

Scientists from King's College London have successfully grown human teeth in a lab for the first time. They said that the breakthrough could lead to patients regrowing lost teeth in future. The team of the scientists developed a material that mimics the environment needed for tooth development, allowing cells to send signals and begin forming a tooth.

US to declare separate tariffs for exempted electronics, smartphones

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated on Sunday that smartphones, computers, other electronic products and semiconductors will be subject to separate sector-based tariffs. "We can't be relying on China for fundamental things that we need: our medicines and our semiconductors need to be built in America," he stated. He added that the tariffs would be announced in approximately a month.

ICC launches dedicated support initiative for displaced Afghan women cricketers

The ICC has announced formation of a dedicated task force to support displaced Afghan women cricketers. The ICC has joined hands with BCCI, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and Cricket Australia (CA) to assist the athletes in both their cricketing and personal development journeys. The ICC will establish a dedicated fund to provide direct monetary assistance to the cricketers.

India's 1st Star Wars-like laser shoots down drones swarm during trial

India successfully tested its high-energy laser weapon system capable of neutralising drones and other aerial threats with precision. The MK-II(A) Laser-Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) system defeated the fixed wing UAV and swarm drones, DRDO Chairman Samir Kamat said, adding that India has joined exclusive club of global powers who possess this system. Kamat called it a Star Wars-like technology.

India has unveiled a 30-kilowatt laser-based weapon system which can shoot down fixed-wing aircraft, missiles and swarm drones. India showcased the weapon system's capability for the first time in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool. India has joined list of selected countries, including the US, China, and Russia, that have shown such a capability.

Russia hits Ukraine with ballistic missile; 21 killed

On being questioned about separate semiconductor tariffs, US President Donald Trump said that he would give an answer to this on Monday and added that they'll be "very specific". This comes after the Trump administration excluded smartphones, computers and some other electronic devices from its reciprocal tariffs. The exemption includes the 125% tariffs levied on China.
