SC stays recovery of ₹5 lakh from Noida DM's salary in DU student's NSA detention case

Supreme Court stayed Allahabad High Court's order directing recovery of ₹5-lakh compensation from salary of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) District Magistrate Medha Roopam and other officials. The HC had awarded compensation to DU law student and activist Akriti Chaudhary after quashing her NSA detention following workers' protests in Noida in April. "We can't isolate her [DM Roopam]," the SC said.
