Scientists at the Geneva University have captured a first-ever 3D view of T cells releasing toxic molecules at precise contact points to destroy cancer cells while leaving surrounding healthy cells unharmed. The near-native images were obtained using cryo-expansion microscopy (cryo-ExM) method. The findings could advance immuno-oncology by improving the understanding of successful immune attacks.
