The Union Budget 2026 has raised the Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on Futures contracts to 0.05% from 0.02%. Meanwhile, STT on options premium and exercise of options will be raised to 0.15% from rates of 0.1% and 0.125%, respectively. Moreover, it has reduced tax on overseas tour packages to 2% from current 5% and 20%.
