Venus, the second planet from the Sun and Earth's closest planetary neighbour, may still be tearing itself apart from within, according to a new study. Advanced 3D simulations indicate that some of the planet's giant rift valleys formed relatively recently and may still be expanding. The findings suggest Venus has a far more active interior than previously believed.
