Several videos have surfaced online showing people wrapping their wallets in aluminium foil to keep their RFID-enabled cards and identity documents safe. Aluminium can block/weaken radio frequency signals, making contactless fraud difficult, but experts termed this a temporary fix. They further noted that authentication safeguards in modern payments make large-scale contactless fraud difficult.
