The first World War ended at 11 am on November 11, 1918, after Germany signed an armistice prepared by Britain and France. The armistice was signed in a railroad carriage in French commune of Compiègne. The Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria fought the war against the Allied Powers of Britain, Russia, France, Italy and US.
