"In Russia's Samara...One of the key enterprises within Roscosmos – the Progress Center, which was involved, among other things, in electronics production – was hit. Russia launches massive ballistic missile attack on Ukraine

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing dozens of ballistic missiles that killed at least 17 people, and destroyed warehouses and logistics centres of major retailers. Following the attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's lack of missile defences had once again cost lives and urged foreign allies to replenish its supplies of interceptors.

Ukraine on Monday bombed Russia's resort town of Gelendzhik, killing seven people, including three children, and injuring about 40 others. "What happened today was a deliberate attack by ​Ukrainian regime on the civilian population, which has no connection whatsoever to military ​infrastructure," Russia said. A medical team had been dispatched to the scene of the explosion.

Yamunanagar sailor killed in Ukraine missile strike

A sailor from Yamunanagar district was killed after a merchant vessel he was serving on came under a missile attack while leaving the Ukrainian port of Odesa on July 19. The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh Bath, a resident of Panjeton village in Yamunanagar. He was among the 17 crew members on board the merchant vessel Golden Leo.

400 Ukrainian drones attack Russia

Ukraine attacked Russian capital Moscow and the surrounding region with 400 drones overnight, wounding 10 people and setting multiple buildings on fire, officials said on Monday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country hit logistical facilities and an oil depot in the region of the Russian capital. Most of the drones were neutralised by Russian air defence systems.

Martial law extended in Ukraine

Ukraine's Parliament has voted to extend martial law in the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy first declared martial law on February 24, 2022, when Russia launched its war on Ukraine. Parliamentary and presidential elections, which were last held in Ukraine in 2019, are banned under martial law. Russia has repeatedly questioned Zelenskyy's legitimacy after his term ended in 2024.

The massive lid of an oil storage tank was flown off as Ukraine attacked an oil refinery in Russia's Moscow, with a video surfacing on social media. This was Ukraine's second attack on the oil refinery this week. Plumes of black smoke were seen along the Moscow skyline and all four of the city's airports temporarily suspended operations.

Over 500 flights disrupted in Moscow after Ukraine's drone attack

Over 500 flights were cancelled, delayed or diverted at several airports in Moscow after the Russian capital was hit by one of the largest Ukrainian attacks since the start of the war. Thousands of passengers are stranded after authorities imposed temporary restrictions on air traffic. Around 1,000 drones and four cruise missiles were intercepted, according to Russia's Defence Ministry.
