Ukraine launched its largest-ever attack on Russia as it fired over 1,000 drones. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said drones hit Moscow Oil Refinery and a residential building. Sharing visuals of attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, "One of Russia's key oil industry facilities and the aggressor's logistics facility were hit...These are billions of dollars that sustain war machine."

Top Russian general Anton Grunis, who won praise from President Vladimir Putin after reporting how troops under his command helped Russia capture the Ukrainian stronghold of Kostiantynivka, has been killed by Ukraine. This comes over two weeks after he received Hero of Russia award for ​his wartime service. His death was confirmed by a Russian commander in a Telegram post.

US President Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to halt strikes on Russia’s oil refineries as average US diesel prices soared past $6 a gallon. “He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia. There are plenty of other targets. Don’t hit diesel fuel, because that’s hurting the world,” Trump said. Ukraine says Russia’s oil industry funds the war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday issued an order not to launch strikes against Ukraine for three days as US special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Russia to discuss a proposal aimed at ending the war. US President Donald Trump suggested that US has a fresh concrete proposal aimed at ending the war.

Russia on Friday carried out a drone attack on the headquarters of Ukraine's top security agency SBU. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the drone was aimed directly at the office of the Head of agency in that building. He ordered "an appropriate response and one that mirrors this strike".

While responding to a question on US threat to impose sanctions on countries buying Russian oil amid Russia-Ukraine war, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, " This war...will not be solved because somebody is buying or not buying oil." "This conflict will be solved by dialogue...And that is why it is something we would encourage," he said during his Ukraine visit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said that there was a chance of reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine. "We are grateful to everyone attempting to contribute to a settlement...Ultimately, however, the problem must be resolved by the countries involved in the conflict — Russia and Ukraine," he further said.

Russia's Defence Ministry on Saturday said that its soldiers had captured the village of Khrapivshchyna in Ukraine's Sumy region, and the villages of Novoandriivka and Rubizhne in the Donetsk region. Through its Telegram channel, the ministry further said that it had attacked a logistics centre in the Kyiv region where components for Ukrainian ballistic missiles were stored.

Russian President Vladimir Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons as a last resort in the Ukraine war, Bloomberg reported. Tactical nuclear weapons are short-range nuclear arms designed for limited battlefield use rather than full cities or countries. The weapons possess immense destructive power and are capable of contaminating large areas of land with nuclear fallout.
