Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday issued an order not to launch strikes against Ukraine for three days as US special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Russia to discuss a proposal aimed at ending the war. US President Donald Trump suggested that US has a fresh concrete proposal aimed at ending the war.

Russia on Friday carried out a drone attack on the headquarters of Ukraine's top security agency SBU. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the drone was aimed directly at the office of the Head of agency in that building. He ordered "an appropriate response and one that mirrors this strike".

While responding to a question on US threat to impose sanctions on countries buying Russian oil amid Russia-Ukraine war, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, " This war...will not be solved because somebody is buying or not buying oil." "This conflict will be solved by dialogue...And that is why it is something we would encourage," he said during his Ukraine visit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said that there was a chance of reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine. "We are grateful to everyone attempting to contribute to a settlement...Ultimately, however, the problem must be resolved by the countries involved in the conflict — Russia and Ukraine," he further said.

Russia's Defence Ministry on Saturday said that its soldiers had captured the village of Khrapivshchyna in Ukraine's Sumy region, and the villages of Novoandriivka and Rubizhne in the Donetsk region. Through its Telegram channel, the ministry further said that it had attacked a logistics centre in the Kyiv region where components for Ukrainian ballistic missiles were stored.

Russian President Vladimir Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons as a last resort in the Ukraine war, Bloomberg reported. Tactical nuclear weapons are short-range nuclear arms designed for limited battlefield use rather than full cities or countries. The weapons possess immense destructive power and are capable of contaminating large areas of land with nuclear fallout.

In second consecutive day of strikes, Russia launched waves of drones at Ukraine's capital Kyiv and surrounding region on Friday. The attack damaged 14 warehouse premises, 16 homes and three blocks of apartment buildings. On Thursday, an hours-long missile and drone attack by Russia targeted ​major retailers and consumer logistics in Kyiv and elsewhere.

A car carrying a Russian military ​serviceman and his wife exploded in St Petersburg ‌on Thursday, killing the official instantly, Russian media reported. The man has been identified by the local media as a lieutenant ​colonel, adding that his wife was rushed to ​hospital. Russia has in the past blamed Ukraine for a string of assassinations of senior military officials.

Russia on Tuesday said that its forces bombed three cargo vessels carrying supplies for the Ukrainian military and a tanker at the Black Sea port of Pivdennyi. The country said it also hit another cargo vessel in the nearby port of Odesa, as well as port infrastructure in Pivdennyi and Odesa and fuel storage facilities at the port of Chornomorsk.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that his country attacked a unit of Russian space agency Roscosmos. "In Russia's Samara...One of the key enterprises within Roscosmos – the Progress Center, which was involved, among other things, in electronics production – was hit. Flamingo missiles were used...The distance from our border is about 900 kilometres," Zelenskyy added.
