Lebanon bans 'Snow White' over Israeli actress Gal Gadot's casting

Disney's live-action film 'Snow White' has been banned from screening in Lebanon theatres over the casting of Israel-born actress Gal Gadot. The actress essays the role of Evil Queen in the film. The ban was ordered by Lebanon's Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar, reported Variety. A representative for Beirut-based Italia Films said Gadot has long been on Lebanon's "Israel boycott list".

Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted interim protection from arrest to stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra in connection with a case over his "traitor" joke on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The HC reserved its order on Kamra's plea seeking quashing of an FIR filed against him. Earlier, Madras HC extended his interim protection from arrest till April 17.
