VB-G RAM G Bill gets President's assent

President Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Bill, 2025. This paves ways for the new statutory rural employment framework that replaces MGNREGA. The Rural Development Ministry said, "The Act enhances the statutory wage employment guarantee to 125 days per financial year for rural households."

Pakistan defeated eight-time champions India by 191 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. Pakistan put up a total of 347/8 and dismissed India for 156 runs in 26.2 overs to win Under-19 Asia Cup for the second time. Pakistan's Sameer Minhas was named Player of the Match for his 172(113).

India releases statement on Hindu man's lynching, reports of protests outside B'desh embassy

After Hindu man Dipu Chandra Das was lynched in Bangladesh, India conveyed Bangladesh its strong concerns and urged that "perpetrators of Das' barbaric killing be brought to justice". India shut down misleading propaganda over protests by 20-25 people outside Bangladesh embassy in Delhi, stating there was no attempt to create security situation by protestors, who were dispersed within minutes.

BCCI forced Shubman Gill out of Ahmedabad T20I: Report

The BCCI forced Shubman Gill out of fifth T20I against South Africa in Ahmedabad, according to a PTI report. It was decided Gill won't be picked for T20 World Cup when Lucknow T20I was called off, but till Saturday morning, Gill wasn't informed about it, the report added. Gill was ruled out of fifth T20I due to a foot injury.

Railway ticket prices increased

Railway ticket prices will be hiked from December 26, government has announced. Prices of Ordinary Class tickets for distances above 215 km will be increased by 1 paise/km, while prices of Mail/Express Non AC tickets will be increased by 2 paise/km. Prices of AC Class tickets will be hiked by 2 paise/km. Railways will earn about ₹600 crore from this.
