A man in Kerala lost ₹40,000 after scammers used deepfake technology to pose as his friend during a video call. PS Radhakrishnan got WhatsApp messages from a person claiming to be his former colleague, seeking ₹40,000 for his sister-in-law's emergency surgery. "Seconds later, he called and looked exactly like my former colleague...his face was visible, it was clear," said Radhakrishnan.
