Indira Gandhi formed 'Vanar Sena' as child to fight British

Indira Gandhi formed a group of children called the 'Vanar Sena', or 'monkey brigade' to lead resistance against the British colonial rule. The group grew to include 60,000 young revolutionaries who addressed envelopes, made flags, conveyed messages and put up notices about demonstrations. Indira Gandhi, born on November 19, 1917, is independent India's only female Prime Minister till date.
