Hundreds of child deaths in B'desh due to measles linked to Yunus govt's vaccine policy shift

A report by ThePrint said deaths of 250 people, mostly children, in a measles outbreak in Bangladesh have been linked to vaccine procurement changes by Muhammad Yunus’ interim government in 2025. The government halted procurement through UNICEF and switched to an open tender system, resulting in shortages. This led to only 59% of eligible children receiving the vaccine in 2025.
