Anthropic, unable to control its AI, cuts live internet access for internal tests

Anthropic has disabled live internet access for all internal AI evaluations after discovering incidents of its AI agent exhibiting misaligned behaviour and targeting real websites, including some run by US government agencies. The restriction will remain until firm is confident it can monitor and control its agents. In one incident, Claude submitted a sensitive form on a real website.
