Independent MP from Purnia, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav was arrested at midnight over not appearing for a court hearing in connection with a 1995 cheating case. A man had accused Yadav and his associates of renting his house under false pretences. He claimed he was not informed that residential property would be used as political office of the MP.
