Debate over new GDP series unwarranted, it's the best: MoSPI Secy

Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) Secretary Saurabh Garg said the debate over the new GDP series is "unwarranted" and may have arisen because the 7.8% growth in April-June 2026 was higher than expected. "There is no doubt [that the new series is the best] because we are using the best available data," he added.
