US ban on $1 billion of Canadian imports comes into effect

The US ban on around $1 billion worth of imports from Canada, including alcoholic beverages, dairy products, and motor vehicles, came into effect on Tuesday. US President Donald Trump imposed the ban after Canada announced retaliatory tariffs on US imports in September. Canada had announced tariffs in response to the 50% tariffs imposed by the US on certain Canadian goods.
