I.N.D.I.A bloc has announced an Odisha bandh on October 8 over the new mining law, the MMDR Act, and called a halt to mineral extraction for the next seven days. This comes after the Odisha Assembly was adjourned twice amid Opposition protests, with members calling the law "anti-tribal." The statewide shutdown also includes a demand for CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.
