Kotak Neo Head of Commodity and Currency Anindya Banerjee said buying one gram of gold or 100 grams of silver on Dhanteras for 21 years would've given 3.97x and 3.75x returns, respectively. Gold purchases would've translated to an investment of ₹76,246 and returns of ₹2.26 lakh. Meanwhile, 2.1-kg silver bought on Dhanteras would translate to ₹1.05-lakh investment and ₹2.89-lakh returns.
