Haier, Godrej, Blue Star claimed ₹6.87-cr tax credits for fake recycling: Report

Indian tax authorities alleged that Haier, Godrej & Boyce, and Blue Star failed to verify e-waste recycling claims made by a third-party vendor, Reuters reported. The companies were accused of wrongly claiming tax credits worth $714,000 (₹6.87 crore) for recycling services that were never rendered. The three companies admitted they had not independently verified the actual recycling of e-waste.
