Bike taxis must go fully electric by July 2027: Maha govt

Bike taxi aggregators in Maharashtra, including Ola, Uber and Rapido, have been given until July 2027 to shift to fully electric fleets. The state Transport Department has set a phased nine-month transition period, with petrol bike operators getting six months in the first phase. Riders and associations have raised concerns about the financial burden of switching to electric vehicles.
