Eight people, including Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar's brother Padamsinh Patil, were acquitted in the 2006 murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar. Nimbalkar's son, Omprakash Rajenimbalkar, is one of the rebel MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT). Earlier, Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay Raut alleged that Omprakash was being lured with a "favourable verdict" in the murder case to switch parties.
