Scientists test world's 1st solar panels that work underwater

Chinese scientists have tested what they describe as the world's first submarine solar power system at a depth of 10 metres in the South China Sea. The system uses specially designed lead-halide perovskite solar cells tuned to capture blue-green light underwater. It successfully charged batteries and powered an LED, offering a potential energy source for autonomous underwater devices.
