How Indore cleared 13 lakh tonnes of garbage in six months?

Indore cleared about 13 lakh tonnes of garbage from a 100-acre dumpsite in six months in 2018 under then Municipal Commissioner and IAS officer Asheesh Singh. The team recovered plastic and other recyclables using bio-mining and bio-remediation and sent combustible waste to cement factories as fuel. The project reportedly cost less than ₹10 crore, compared with an estimated ₹65 crore.
