Villagers in UP's Firozabad protested against prepaid smart meters, alleging that these meters are running faster than the old ones and that their electricity bills have doubled due to it. The women in the village uprooted the smart meters installed in their homes and dumped them at a nearby power station. Similar protests were seen in other areas also.
