After China, Malaysia has seen a surge in human metapneumovirus (HMPV) infections in recent months. Malaysia saw a rise in cases of HMPV in 2024, with 327 cases reported, marking a 45% increase from 225 cases in 2023, as per The Straits Times. The Malaysian Health Ministry has urged citizens to adopt preventive measures to curb the spread of HMPV.
