How does a missed EMI affect someone who co-signed a loan?
Co-signing a loan for a family member can also make the co-signer responsible for repayments if the borrower stops paying. Depending on the loan terms, the lender may require the co-signer to meet the outstanding obligation. CIBIL says co-signers, guarantors and joint borrowers are equally liable for missed payments, and borrower's poor repayment record can affect their access to credit.
