RBI clarifies FEMA reporting rules for freelancers, small exporters

New FEMA trade rules from October 1 raised concerns among freelancers and small exporters over extra declarations for overseas payments. RBI clarified that personal transactions are excluded from these reporting requirements, while exporters with bills up to ₹10 lakh can use self-declarations and invoices. Banks will handle reporting, thereby easing compliance for small businesses and individuals.
